	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Remove corresponding underfloor paneling	MODEL 166	AR61.30-P-1001GQ

2	Detach EGR line (4) on exhaust manifold with catalytic converter (1l or 1r)	Model 166, 251 with code 920 (Gasoline direct injection with stratified charge) : Replace seal. Clamp on EGR line and exhaust gas recirculation valve	*BA14.20-P-1002-01M
3	Remove screw/bolt for NOx storage catalytic converter clamp on exhaust manifold with CAT (1r or 1l)	Model 166 with CODE (920) (Gasoline direct injection with stratified charge)	AR49.10-P-7100GQA

4	Remove screw/bolt, exhaust manifold with catalytic converter (1r or 1l) at transmission	MODEL 251	AR49.10-P-7100GZA
5	Remove cross strut on the left and right on rear engine crossmember	MODEL 251 Bolt, reinforcement brace to rear engine crossmember	*BA22.10-P-1006-03F
	Only perform operation steps 6 to 15 for removal of the left exhaust manifold with catalytic converter (1l)
6	Remove front engine cover
7.1	Remove section of bulkhead on the left	MODEL 166
7.2	Remove partition wall between wheel wells	MODEL 251	AR62.30-P-2400RT
8	Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit		AR07.08-P-7008GQ
9	Unclip engine wiring harness (2) on bracket (3 for the ME-SFI [ME] control unit
10	Unclip purge line on bracket (3) for the ME-SF [ME] control unit
11	Unclip electrical connection for engine wiring harness (2) on bracket (3) for the ME-SFI [ME control unit
12	Unclip electrical connections (5) from their brackets and disconnect
13	Remove left oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/3)		AR07.52-P-5303GQ
14	Remove heat shield (6) together with holder (3) and remove upwards, to do this remove screw/bolts (3s)	Only 4 screw/bolts (3s) need to be removed; separation of the bracket (3) and the heat shield (6) is not required.	AR07.08-P-7008GQ
15	Remove rear engine crossmember	MODEL 251	AR22.10-P-1180GZD

	Perform operation steps 16 to 20 to remove the right exhaust manifold with catalytic converter (1r)
16	Remove air filter housing	Bolt, air filter to cylinder head cover	*BA09.10-P-1001-01M
		Bolt, air filter to air intake pipe support brace	*BA09.10-P-1002-01M
17	Unclip electrical connections (8) from their brackets and disconnect
18	Unclip electrical lines (13) at heat shield (7) and unclip EGR line (4)	Model 166, 251 with code 920 (Gasoline direct injection with stratified charge)
19	Remove right oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/4)		AR07.52-P-5303GQ
20	Remove heat shield on right exhaust manifold with CAT (1r)
21	Unscrew nuts (1s) for exhaust manifold with catalytic converter (1l or 1r)	: Observe tightening procedure for exhaust manifold.	AR14.10-P-3000-01MM
		Nut, exhaust manifold to cylinder head	*BA14.10-P-1001-01E
22	Remove exhaust manifold with catalytic converter (1l or 1r)	: Replace seal and check stud for damage; replace if necessary.
23	Remove oxygen sensor downstream of CAT (G3/5 or G3/6)	Only when replacing the exhaust manifold with CAT (1l or 1r).	AR07.52-P-5303GQ
24	Install in the reverse order
	Check
25	Check installation position and unobstructed movement of all components of the exhaust system
26	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Perform an engine test run and check exhaust system for leaktightness	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
