Function requirements, general
- Circuit 30g On or run-on active
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
Power down:
If circuit 30g is switched off, the electrical seat adjustment (ESA) can still be set for t = 180 s. If, during the run-on time, the circuit status or the door status is changed (open or close), the run-on time starts again.
The left front door control unit sends the status of the left front door over interior CAN to the SAM control unit. The right front door control unit sends the status of the right front door over interior CAN to the SAM control unit.
Electrical seat adjustment (ESA), general
The ESA enables the adjustment of the driver and front passenger seat.
The driver and front passenger seat can be adjusted as follows:
- Seat fore/aft position (with CODE 560 (Electrically adjustable front seats))
- Backrest inclination
- Seat height
- Seat inclination
The ESA includes the following subfunctions:
- Function sequence for driver seat adjustment
- Function sequence for front passenger seat adjustment
- Function sequence for overload protection
Function sequence for driver seat adjustment
The manual setting occurs via the respective switch in the left front seat adjustment switch group.
Operation of the respective switch in the left front seat adjustment switch group is read in via left front door LIN by the left front door control unit. The left front door control unit transmits the requests from the left front switch group, seat adjustment via the interior CAN, SAM control unit and center console switch LIN to the driver seat control unit.
To adjust, hold down the respective switch in the left front seat adjustment switch group until the desired position is reached.
The driver seat control unit actuates the following motors directly corresponding to the request:
- Driver seat fore/aft adjustment motor
- Driver seat height adjustment motor
- Driver seat inclination adjustment motor
- Driver seat backrest inclination adjustment motor
Function sequence for front passenger seat adjustment
The manual setting occurs via the respective switch in the right front seat adjustment switch group.
Operation of the respective switch in the right front seat adjustment switch group is read in via right front door LIN by the right front door control unit. The right front door control unit transmits the request from the right front switch group, seat adjustment via the interior CAN, SAM control unit and center console switch LIN to the front passenger seat control unit. To adjust, hold down the respective switch in the right front seat adjustment switch group until the desired position is reached.
The front passenger seat control unit actuates the following motors directly corresponding to the request:
- Front passenger seat fore/aft adjustment motor
- Front passenger seat height adjustment motor
- Front passenger seat inclination adjustment motor
- Front passenger seat backrest inclination adjustment motor
Function sequence for overload protection
The overload protection is implemented by means of a thermal fuse in the seat adjustment motors. As a result, if the seat adjustment motor is blocked, it is not switched off until exceeds a certain temperature threshold.
