Preventive occupant protection system
If a potential accident situation is detected, the preventive occupant protection system, initiates reversible measures for preventive occupant protection. To do so, it uses options provided by systems already available in the vehicle (e.g. power windows).
Pedestrian protection
The pedestrian protection reduces the level of injury severity in the event of any collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle.
The following measures reduce the loads that act on a pedestrian in the event of a collision:
- Deformation areas at front end
- Extension to deformation areas through active engine hood
Supplemental restraint system
The Supplemental Restraint System provides optimum occupant protection in the event of an accident. This protection, in particular, is achieved through the interaction of the body, seat belt, airbag and the sensor system.
