	Remove/install
1	Remove upper liftgate paneling		AR72.20-P-6631LWG
2	Mechanically lock rotary tumbler on liftgate lock with suitable screwdriver	Otherwise, the liftgate (1) can no longer be opened when the electrical lines are disconnected. : Before adjusting liftgate (1), release rotary tumbler on liftgate latch.
3	Remove both covers (2) from hinges
4	Pull both grommets (3) out of liftgate (1)	Carefully pull out grommets (3). Otherwise the electrical lines inside can be damaged. : Make sure that grommets (3) are seated correctly.
5	Remove ground lines (4)

		Right tailgate ground point	*BA00.19-P-1039-01E
		Upper right liftgate ground point	*BA00.19-P-1040-01E
6	Disconnect electrical connectors from left electrical wiring harness (5) and right electrical wiring harness (6)	The number of electrical connectors may vary depending on the equipment.
7	Expose left electrical wiring harness (5) and right electrical wiring harness (6) on liftgate (1)	Note installation position of left electrical wiring harness (5) and right electrical wiring harness (6).
8	Guide left electrical wiring harness (5) and right electrical wiring harness (6) out of liftgate (1)	Carefully guide out left electrical wiring harness (5) and right electrical wiring harness (6). Otherwise the electrical connectors can be damaged.
9	Remove gas-filled strut from liftgate (1)		AR72.20-P-2832LW
		Model 253.3 with code 890 (EASY-PACK-tailgate) Only one gas-filled strut is installed.
10	Remove drive unit of liftgate (1)	Model 253.3 with code 890 (EASY-PACK-tailgate)

11	Unscrew bolts (7) and remove liftgate (1)	: Only tighten bolts (7) after adjusting liftgate (1). Helper required.
12	Install in the reverse order
	Adjust
13	Adjust liftgate (1)		AR72.20-P-0002LWX
