	Remove/install
1	Remove corresponding front wheel.		AR40.10-P-1102A
2	Open cable duct (1) on suspension strut (2) and place to one side with line still attached.	Model 205, 213 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) except code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
3	Unhook brake hose (10) from holders (11).	Model 205, 213 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) Model 253 except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) Model 293
4	Disconnect electrical connector at suspension strut (2).	Model 205 with code 459 (DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension with adjustment damping) with code 488 (Steel/air suspension) except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) Model 213 with code 459 (DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension with adjustment damping) except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension)
5	Unhook electric lines (13) from holder (14) and place to one side.	Model 205, 213 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) Model 253 except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) Model 293
6	Remove nut (15) and take off vibration damper (16).	Model 213 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) except code 830 (China version) If installed. Vibration damper to threaded pin	*BA32.25-P-1004-04P
7	Remove suspension strut (2) at spring link (5).	Model 205 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) Model 213 with code 830 (China version) except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) Model 253 except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) Model 293 Insert screw (6) from rear toward front. Otherwise the brake or the rim may be damaged. Model 213 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) except code 830 (China version) Replace screw (6) with threaded pin (17). Model 213 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) except code 830 (China version) Installation:  Insert threaded pin (17) from front to rear. 8	Secure steering knuckle (3) against falling down.
9	Remove nut of steering knuckle (3) at upper transverse control arm (4).	Counterhold the ball head and do not use an impact wrench/driver. Otherwise the ball head or steering knuckle (3) may be damaged. Nut, steering knuckle to transverse control arm	*BA33.20-P-1006-01U
10	Remove upper transverse control arm (4) from steering knuckle (3).
11	Lower vehicle.
12	Remove cover (7).	When removing right suspension strut (2).
13	Open service flap (8).	Model 205 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) When removing the left suspension strut (2).
14	Remove wiper arms.	Model 205 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) If the nuts (9) cannot be accessed through the open service flap (8). When removing the left suspension strut (2).	AR82.30-P-6100LW
15	Remove cover under wiper arms.	Model 205 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) If the nuts (9) cannot be accessed through the open service flap (8). When removing the left suspension strut (2).
16	Remove left cover in engine compartment.	Model 213 except code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) Model 253 except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) Model 293 When removing the left suspension strut (2).
17	Remove nuts (9) at suspension strut (2).	Nut, strut to body	*BA32.25-P-1001-04P
18	Remove suspension strut (2) downwards.	Carefully remove suspension strut (2). Otherwise the spring control arm strut on the spring control arm (5) may be damaged.
	Check
19	Check condition of suspension strut (2).	In the event of a problem, ↓ Replace damaged parts on suspension strut (2).	AR32.25-P-1018LW
20	Check condition of suspension strut joint at spring link (5).	In the event of a problem, ↓ Replace spring link (5).	AR33.15-P-0170LW
21	Install in the reverse order.
22	Check and correct headlamp adjustment.	When replacing suspension strut (2) or spring link (5).
