  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove rear wheel   AR40.10-P-1102A
2.1 Remove rear axle spring Model 213.0 (except 213.064/088/089), 213.1 except code 489 (AIRMATIC) AR32.20-P-0230LW
2.2 Remove air spring Model 213.0 (except 213.064/088/089), 213.1 with code 489 (AIRMATIC)
Model 213.2 (except 213.264/288/289)

3 Unscrew nut (11) and pull bolt of torsion bar linkage out of spring control arm (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, torsion bar linkage to spring control arm *BA32.20-P-1003-04S 
4 Unscrew nut (12) and pull bolt of shock absorber (5) out of spring control arm (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking nut, shock absorber to spring control arm *BA32.25-P-1001-03P 
5 Unscrew nut and remove screw (10) from spring link (4) IMPORTANT The SPECIAL TOOL screwdriver bit is to be used where a screw (10) with a multi-socket tooth profile is installed.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, spring control arm to wheel carrier *BA35.20-P-1002-01I

6 Unscrew nut and pull bolt (13) out of spring control arm (4) IMPORTANT The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt (13) with a multi-socket tooth profile is fitted.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, spring control arm to rear axle carrier *BA35.20-P-1001-01I 
    SPECIAL TOOL Screwdriver bit Fig 2
7 Remove spring link (4)    
INSPECT Check     
8 Check that elastomer bearing (9) in rear axle carrier (8) is in good condition and undamaged If a problem arises

Replace elastomer bearing (9).

9 Check that supporting ball joint (7) in wheel carrier (6) is in good condition and undamaged If a problem arises

Replace supporting joint (7).

10 Install in the reverse order    
11 Perform wheel alignment check   AR40.20-P-0200LW
