	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
	Notes on bolted connections with self tapping screws		AH00.00-P-0007-01SF
	Remove/install
1	Shift transmission to neutral and release parking brake
2	Remove exhaust system (10)	Model 231 with engine 157, 276, 278	AR49.10-P-7100RK
		Model 231 with engine 279	AR49.10-P-7100RKC
3	Unscrew nuts (6) and remove underfloor paneling (9)		AR61.30-P-1001RK
4	Mark front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2)	Mark the installation position of the front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2) relative to the flanges on the transmission (8) and rear axle differential (5). This will allow the components to be reinstalled at the factory installation position. Otherwise, drive train vibrations will occur.
5	Loosen heat shields (14) and remove heat shields (7)
6	Support transmission (8)	On vehicles without direct threaded connection.

7	Remove rear engine crossmember (11)	On vehicles without direct threaded connection. Model 231 with engine 157, 276, 278	AR22.10-P-1180RK
8	Unscrew screws/bolts (16) and remove reinforcement (15)	Bolt, center reinforcement brace to frame floor assembly	*BA61.10-P-1012-01H
9	Detach front propeller shaft (1) at transmission (8)	The front flexible coupling (13) remains on the front propeller shaft (1).	AR41.10-P-0040-01LW

10	Loosen pilot bushing of front flexible coupling (13)	If there is damage or drive train vibrations occur.
	Drift for releasing the fitting sleeves in the flexible couplings		WF58.50-P-4110-01A

11	Detach rear propeller shaft (2) from rear axle differential (5)	The rear flexible coupling (12) remains on the rear propeller shaft (2). Propeller shaft at flexible coupling or flexible coupling to rear axle differential	*BA41.10-P-1002-01I
12	Loosen pilot bushing of rear flexible coupling (12)	If there is damage or drive train vibrations occur.
	Drift for releasing the fitting sleeves in the flexible couplings		WF58.50-P-4110-01A

13	Mark propeller shaft intermediate bearing (4)	Mark the installation position of the propeller shaft intermediate bearing (4) relative to the underfloor. This will allow the components to be reinstalled at the factory installation position. Otherwise, drive train vibrations will occur.
14	Remove bolts (3) from propeller shaft intermediate bearing (4)	Do not tighten the bolts (3) until the front propeller shaft (1) has been completely attached to the transmission (8) and the rear propeller shaft (2) to the rear axle differential (5). Bolt, propeller shaft center support bearing to frame floor assembly	*BA41.40-P-1001-01F
15	Remove front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2) from below
	Check
16	Check propeller shaft intermediate bearing (4) for wear and damage	If wear or damage present ↓ Replace propeller shaft center support bearing (4) with grooved ball bearing	AR41.10-P-0100CW
17	Check pilot bushing for wear	If wear or damage present ↓ Replace pilot bushing	AR41.10-P-0200CW
18	Check rear flexible coupling (12) and front flexible coupling (13)
		If wear or damage present ↓ Replace flexible couplings	AP41.10-P-4152EW
19	Install in the reverse order
