Front Passenger Seat Control Unit, Component Description - GF91.29-P-5241RR
Model 190
With Code P64 (Memory package)
Location
The front passenger seat control unit is located at the bottom of the front passenger seat frame.
Task
The front passenger seat control unit is responsible for the following tasks:
- Control of seat adjustment
- Control of memory function for front passenger seat
- Control of collision avoidance with the bulkhead
- Control of PRE-SAFE® positioning function for the front passenger seat (with CODE 299 (PRE-SAFE® system))
Information on the PRE-SAFE® positioning function for the front passenger seat can be found in the separate function description "PRE-SAFE® function".
The tasks are subdivided as follows:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Transmitting signals
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals from the following Hall sensors are read in via direct lines:
- Seat fore/aft adjustment Hall sensor, front passenger seat (M28/1 b1)
- Height adjustment Hall sensor, front passenger seat (M28/2b1)
- Hall sensor inclination adjustment, front passenger seat (M28/3b1)
- Backrest inclination Hall sensor, front passenger seat (M28/5b1)
Interior CAN
The front passenger seat control unit reads in the following signals via interior CAN, among other things:
- Seat adjustment request
- Save/adopt memory position request
- Terminal status of terminal 15
- Door status (open/closed)
- PRE-SAFE® status (with CODE 299 (PRE-SAFE® system))
- PRE-SAFE® adjustment request (with CODE 299 (PRE-SAFE® system))
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the front passenger seat control unit and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The following motors are actuated via integrated relays and subsequently via direct lines:
- Front passenger seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M28/1)
- Front passenger seat height adjustment motor (M28/2)
- Front passenger seat inclination adjustment motor (M28/3)
- Front passenger seat backrest inclination adjustment motor (M28/5)
Transmitting signals
The front passenger seat control unit sends the following signals via interior CAN, among other things:
- Request for acknowledge tone after storage in memory
- Seat position status
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Variants
There are no variants for the hardware of the front passenger seat control unit. The country or left-hand drive vehicle/right hand drive vehicle allocation is software coded.
