Remove/Install SAM Control Unit With Rear Fuse And Relay Box - AR54.21-P-1259RG

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A

IMPORTANT Notes on sensor system for trunk lid opening/closing   AH80.61-P-0001-01A
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Commission rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) When installing new rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N102).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
2 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)    
3 Remove side paneling in left side of trunk   AR68.30-P-4800RG
4 Unfasten nuts (1) IMPORTANT Do not unscrew nuts (1).  
5 Pull rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) together with bracket towards trunk and remove upwards    
6 Unscrew nut (2)    
7 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (4 and 5) NOTES
The circuit 30 electrical connectors (4 and 5) must be disconnected first during removal and connected last during installation.
Short circuits can otherwise occur.
 
8 Release and disconnect all other electrical connectors at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and unclip all fuse holders (3) IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors and fuse holders (3) depends on the vehicle equipment.  
9 Remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)    
10 Compare equipment of new rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) with that of old rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2); adapt equipment if necessary When replacing the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
11 Install in the reverse order
