Remove/Install SAM Control Unit With Fuse And Relay Module In Rear Passenger Compartment - AR54.21-P-1271RGR

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Perform commissioning of rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). When replacing the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
2 Loosen side trims in rear passenger compartment and place to one side. IMPORTANT Do not unfasten the seat belts. AR68.30-P-4780RGR
3 Unclip expansion rivets (2). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 2
4 Remove covers (3).    
5 Remove trim of front soft top compartment (1). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Make sure that the trim for the soft top compartment at the front (1) is correctly seated in the guide (arrows C).
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
 
6 Remove screws (4 and 5) and take off cover (6).    
7 Unscrew nut (12).    
8 Remove screw/bolt (11).    
9 Lift up rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) until the electrical connectors are accessible. NOTES
Do not kink or stretch the electric lines.
Otherwise this can lead to damage to the lines and can impair their function.
 
10 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (8 and 9) by pressing back the shackles using an extraction hook (arrows B). INSTALLATION NOTES :
Make sure that the contact blades in the plug housing of the electrical connectors (8 and 9) make contact at the very front.
Otherwise, malfunctions may occur.
NOTES
Disconnect electrical connectors (8 and 9) first during removal and last during installation.
Short circuits can otherwise occur.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Extraction hook Fig 3
11 Release and disconnect all other electrical connectors on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors varies according to vehicle equipment.  
12 Unclip fuse holder (7) and remove from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). IMPORTANT The number of fuse holders (7) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.  
13 Remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).    
14 Install in the reverse order.
