Charge Battery - AR54.10-P-1130RG

DANGER Risk of fire  /risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death  due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

INSPECT Check     
1 Check condition of on-board electrical system battery (G1) Model 190 except code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB))
Not with active transport mode.

  Charging     
2 Slide cover (1) open With on-board electrical system battery (G1) installed.
IMPORTANT The jump-start connection is located under the cover (1).
 
3.1 Connect charger positive clamp (3) to jump-start connection, then connect charger ground clamp (4) to ground point (2) With on-board electrical system battery (G1) installed.  
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 07 81 00 Charger NOTES
Make sure that the vent hose and the stop plug of the on-board electrical system battery (G1) are installed correctly.
Otherwise escaping battery vapors may cause damage.
NOTES
Do not reverse polarity.
Otherwise a short circuit will cause damage.

3.2 Connect positive clamp charger (3) to positive terminal, then ground clamp charger (4) to negative terminal of on-board electrical system battery (G1) With on-board electrical system battery (G1) removed.  
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 07 81 00 Charger NOTES
Do not reverse polarity.
Otherwise a short circuit will cause damage.

4 Charge on-board electrical system battery (G1)    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 07 81 00 Charger IMPORTANT The battery charging period depends on the charge level of the on-board electrical system battery (G1).
Charge the on-board electrical system battery (G1) using an approved charger only.
The on-board electrical system battery (G1) is sufficiently charged when the displayed charging current is < 5 A.

5 Disconnect charger from on-board electrical system battery (G1) or from jump-start connection and ground point (2)    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 07 81 00 Charger NOTES Switch off charger beforehand.
Formation of sparks can otherwise occur.

6 Close cover (1) With on-board electrical system battery (G1) installed.  
INSPECT Check     
7 Check condition of on-board electrical system battery (G1) Model 190 except code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB))
Not with active transport mode.
