TV mode general

The TV tuner control unit makes it possible to receive digital TV channels in the vehicle and show them on the Audio/COMAND display. The head until switches the TV picture off when the vehicle starts to move. When the vehicle is moving, only acoustic playback remains active and - for safety reasons - a warming is shown on the Audio/COMAND display. The head until receives the speed signal from the intrument cluster via the user interface CAN.

If the head unit is not switched on it can be activated via the volume adjustment switch and the head unit on switch in the right lower control panel The volume can also be adjusted via the volume adjustment switch and the head unit on

The TV-3 signal is received over the following path:

The TV tuner control unit processes the TV signals and separates the video signals from the audio signals.

Function sequence for output of video signals

The TV tuner control unit transmits the video signals via the following route: MOST → Head unit → HSVL → Audio/COMAND display

Function sequence for output of audio signals

The TV tuner control unit transfers the audio signals to the head unit via MOST; the head unit forwards the audio signals to the following components via MOST:
