DVD changer function, general
The DVD changer is integrated in the head unit and enables up to six CDs or DVDs to be loaded, played, and ejected. The stowage compartment in the center console must be opened to load or remove CDs and DVDs.

Function sequence for loading or ejecting CD or DVD
The DVD changer load button is displayed in the function bar of the base screen on the Audio/COMAND display and can be operated using the Audio/COMAND control panel or the touchpad. A context menu can be used to select whether a CD or a DVD should be loaded or ejected. During the process, a message will be displayed on the audio/COMAND display, e.g. "Disc loading..." or "Disc 2 ejected...". As soon as an ejected CD or DVD appears in the disc slot, a corresponding message, e.g. "Please remove disc 2", will be displayed. Once the CD or DVD is removed, the message disappears. If an ejected CD or DVD is not removed, it is loaded again.
The "Eject all" menu enables all the loaded CDs or DVDs to be removed one after the other. As soon as the CD or DVD appears in the DVD disc slot, a corresponding message, e.g. "Please remove disc 3", is displayed. Once the CD or DVD has been removed from the DVD disc slot, the next CD or DVD will be ejected until all of the magazine slots are empty.
The ejection procedure can be stopped at any time by re-pressing the DVD changer load button or by pressing the "Back" button (A40/9s2) on the Audio/COMAND control panel or touchpad.
The signals from the Audio/COMAND control panel or touchpad are received by the head unit via the telematics CAN.
The head unit transmits the display messages to the Audio/COMAND display via a LVDS line.
