Rear Fog Lamp Actuation, Function - GF82.10-P-3007RR

Model 190

Without Code 460 (Canada version) Without Code 494 (USA version)

Function requirements, general

IMPORTANT The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) transmits the circuit 15 status to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) over the interior CAN (CAN B).

IMPORTANT During the rear fog light actuation, the low beams actuation is active; this is described in the separate "Driving lights actuation, function" document.

Rear fog light actuation, general

Rear fog light actuation enables the rear of the vehicle to be identified in poor weather conditions.

Rear fog light actuation function sequence

The rear fog light actuation is requested by pressing the rear fog light button (S1s10) on the exterior lights switch (S1).

The front SAM control unit directly reads in the status of the rear fog light button and sends the request to switch on the rear fog light (E7e1) in the center rear lamp unit (E7) via the interior CAN to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). The rear SAM control unit then directly actuates the rear fog light.

The active rear fog light actuation is indicated visually to the driver. To this end, the front SAM control unit sends the "Rear fog light indicator lamp On" request via the interior CAN, AMG gateway control unit (N93/9), and user interface CAN (CAN HMI) to the instrument cluster (A1), which then actuates the rear fog light indicator lamp (A1e18).
