Replace self-pierce rivets installed on vehicle with high-strength flow-form rivets acc. to clamping range.
- Install and fit center and windshield roof paneling.
Only
fit windshield, do not
install and bond.
- Check gaps using
feeler gauge and adjust. 
- Fix center roof paneling in place.
- Remove windshield.
- Drill rivet holes with ø 6.7 mm in center of roof paneling (1) (areas A, C).
Transfer present positions for rivet connections from vehicle to new part. In the case of new part to new part connections, adapt these and prepare together.
- Prepare center roof paneling (1) with rivet press tool (area B).
Transfer present positions for rivet connections from vehicle to new part. In the case of new part to new part connections, adapt these and prepare together.
- Remove drilling shavings with wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Remove center roof paneling (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on center roof paneling (1) and body on both sides (areas A, C).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

- On center roof paneling (1), apply 2-component adhesive (crosshatched areas).
Observe manufacturer's specification for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install center roof paneling (1), fit and fasten.
- Rivet center roof paneling (1) using rivet press tool and blind rivets (areas A, C).
Use blind rivet 6.5x12.5 (Klemmbereich 2 mm up to 5 mm, draw-off strength min. 19 kN).
- Rivet center roof paneling (1) using rivet press tool and flow-form rivets or flow-form rivets (area B).
Use flow-form rivets with structure 4 mm to 5.15 mm clamping range (S38) or flow-form rivets with structure 5.0 mm to 6.1 mm clamping range (S48).
