IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. This must be similarly performed for damage to the right side of the vehicle.

  1. Install upper front longitudinal member (1) with SPECIAL TOOL welding device and fit.

    IMPORTANT When working on right side of vehicle, use SPECIAL TOOL supplementary set in addition.

  2. Install both fenders, engine hood, lamp units and front bumper and fit.
  3. Check gaps using SPECIAL TOOL feeler gauge and adjust. HAND-HELD TESTER
  4. Fix upper front longitudinal member (1) in place with bolt (2) and nut on rear mounting console.
  5. Remove both fenders, engine hood, lamp units and front bumper.
  6. Check weld seam gap.

    IMPORTANT The weld seam gap must not be larger than 1 mm; if necessary, make an add-on seam weld.

  7. Tack weld upper front longitudinal member (1) with welder (SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD ) (areas A, B and C).

    IMPORTANT When MIG welding (SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD ) prepare welds by grinding down to bare metal with stainless steel brush. Tack weld seams at start, end and approx. every 4 cm.

  8. Weld upper front longitudinal member (1) with welder (SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD ) (areas A, B and C).

    IMPORTANT When MIG welding (SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD ), prepare welds by grinding down to bare metal with stainless steel brush directly before welding. Tack weld seams at start, end and approx. every 4 cm. Weld seam gap should not be greater than 1 mm; if required, create a pre-seam.

  9. Tack weld upper front longitudinal member (1) with welder (SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD ) (areas D, E and F).

    IMPORTANT When MIG welding (SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD ) prepare welds by grinding down to bare metal with stainless steel brush. Tack weld seams at start, end and approx. every 4 cm.

  10. Weld upper front longitudinal member (1) with welder (SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD ) (areas D, E and F).

    IMPORTANT When MIG welding (SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD ), prepare welds by grinding down to bare metal with stainless steel brush directly before welding. Tack weld seams at start, end and approx. every 4 cm. Weld seam gap should not be greater than 1 mm; if required, create a pre-seam.

  11. Tack weld upper front longitudinal member (1) with welder (SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD ) (areas G and H).

    IMPORTANT When MIG welding (SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD ) prepare welds by grinding down to bare metal with stainless steel brush. Tack weld seams at start, end and approx. every 4 cm.

  12. Weld upper front longitudinal member (1) with welder (SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD ) (areas G and H).

    IMPORTANT When MIG welding (SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD ), prepare welds by grinding down to bare metal with stainless steel brush directly before welding. Tack weld seams at start, end and approx. every 4 cm. Weld seam gap should not be greater than 1 mm; if required, create a pre-seam.

  13. SPECIAL TOOL Remove welding device.

IMPORTANT When working on right side of vehicle, remove SPECIAL TOOL supplementary set in addition.
