DANGER Risk of death  caused by limbs being caught or crushed by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the EMERGENCY OFF switch to shut down test stand. AS42.00-Z-0001-01A 
CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Operate the brake pedal several times when the engine is switched off IMPORTANT To reduce the vacuum in the brake booster (4).  
2 Open engine hood, move to upright position and close Model 190 AR88.40-P-1000RG
3 Remove brake fluid reservoir   AR42.10-P-0301RQ 
4 Mark brake lines (2) relative to corresponding connection on master brake cylinder (1)    
5 Detach brake lines (2) from master brake cylinder (1) NOTES
Immediately seal off brake lines (2) and connections on master brake cylinder (1). If any foreign bodies enter they may cause damage to the master brake cylinder.
 
    NOTES
Collect brake fluid which runs out with an absorbent rag.
Otherwise the vehicle paint may be damaged.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Retaining screw, brake line to master brake cylinder *BA42.10-P-1005-04M 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 1
6 Unscrew nuts (3) and pull master brake cylinder (1) out of brake booster (4) NOTES
Collect brake fluid which runs out with an absorbent rag.
Otherwise the vehicle paint may be damaged.
 
    NOTES
Foreign objects or fluids must not enter the brake booster (4)!
Otherwise, the brake system may be damaged and malfunction.
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace O-ring of master brake cylinder (1) on brake booster (4).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, brake master cylinder to brake booster *BA42.10-P-1002-05F 
7 Install in the reverse order    
CLEAN Clean     
8 Clean area around master brake cylinder (1)    
INSPECT Check     
9 Bleed brake system Model 190 AR42.10-P-0010RG 
    Bleed brake system, model 197 AR42.10-P-0010RQ
10 Carry out brake test on the test stand    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP42.00-P-4290BA
