Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts

Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels.

1. Remove stop plug (2) from drainage fitting (3) on new water drain (1).
2. Wet drainage fitting (3) with lubricant and insert into body opening (4).
3. Wet grommet (5) with lubricant and slide onto blind rivet nuts (6).
4. Place sealing lip in area (S) behind flange (7).

   Ensure sealing lip in area (S) is correctly seated behind flange (7).

5. Press water drain (1) in area of clips (8) onto flange (7).
6. By feeling from above, check correct seat of sealing lip.

7. Insert drain (9) into water drain (1).

   Ensure drain (9) is correctly positioned.

   Ensure butyl tape is not damaged.

8. Install molded part (10) on mount (11).

   Ensure that nipple (12) is correctly seated in guide (13).

   Ensure molded part (10) is correctly seated on body edge (14).

   Ensure molded part (10) is correctly positioned in groove (15).

9. Clean area on B-pillar.

   Bonding surfaces must be free from dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components.

   Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.

10. Remove films (16) from bonding surfaces and press water drain onto B-pillar.
11. Press on water drain in area of clips again.
12. Check seat of water drain in area of B-pillar (arrow A).

    Ensure a harmonious routing without visible hole between water drain and side wall.

    If complaint present

    ↓

    Repeat operation steps 2 to 11.
