General
Different roof systems are installed depending on the body type and equipment:
- Sliding sunroof (1)
- Panoramic sliding sunroof (2)
- Soft top (3)
Thanks to the roof systems, vehicles are flooded with daylight and they also provide a convenient option for ventilation.
Function
The sliding sunroof (1), panoramic sliding sunroof (2) or soft top (3) opens or closes as a result of different actuation options and depending on the equipment installed.
Sliding sunroof
A roof system in which the movable part is made from heat-insulating safety glass. The movable part is moved under the roof panel when the sliding sunroof (1) is opened.
Panoramic sliding sunroof
A roof system that consists of several glass panels and a sliding sunroof panel and through which light and/or air can enter the vehicle interior. Depending on the vehicle, the sliding sunroof panel can be installed at the front end of the panoramic sliding sunroof (2) and a fixed, integrated glass panel can be installed at the rear end. The sliding sunroof panel can also be installed in the panoramic sliding sunroof (2), between 2 fixed, integrated glass panels.
Soft top
Movable part of a roof system in a convertible or Roadster consisting of soft top canvas, soft top frame, soft top interior trim and potentially a rear-panel window.
The soft top (3) can be opened and closed.
