IMPORTANT Further information can be found in the superordinate service document. Comply with safety information in superordinate customer service document.

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage, these steps must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle.

Replace flow drill and self-tapping fillister head screws as well as self-pierce rivets installed on the vehicle with high-strength rivets in accordance with the clamping range.

  1. Install and align the new side longitudinal member part (1) and A-pillar reinforcement with the straightening set.
  2. Install new parts B-pillar with lock wedge, A-pillar outer section with door, fender and longitudinal member panel and fit.
  3. Check gaps using SPECIAL TOOL feeler gauge and adjust. HAND-HELD TESTERHAND-HELD TESTERHAND-HELD TESTER
  4. Check weld seam gaps.

IMPORTANT Check all weld seam gaps before start of welding. The individual weld seam gap may not be greater than 1 mm, where required use a body weld.

  5. Fix the new side longitudinal member part (1).
  6. Remove the longitudinal member panel, fender, door, A-pillar outer section, lock wedge, B-pillar and A-pillar reinforcement.

  7. Drill rivet holes on the side longitudinal member (1) with a diameter of ø 6.5 mm (areas A1 to A5).

IMPORTANT Transfer holes present in vehicle for flow drill bolts and selftapping fillister head bolts to new part. In the case of new part to new part connections, adapt these and drill together.

  8. Prepare side longitudinal member (1) with rivet press tool (area A6).

IMPORTANT Transfer present positions for rivet connections from vehicle to new part. In the case of new part to new part connections, adapt these and prepare together.

  9. Remove drilling shavings with wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
