Component Description For Rear Display Left/Right - GF82.90-P-4020GN

Location 

The left rear display is located on the left front seat behind the head restraint.

The right rear display is located on the right front seat behind the head restraint.

IMPORTANT The two rear displays are of identical design and the decision as to whether the rear display is shown on the left or the right side is made by way of the pin assignment On the right rear display connector 1 on the rear of the display is not used for pin 5 The following description refers to the left rear display It also applies to the right rear display accordingly

Tasks 

Visualization of all user-relevant information in rear entertainment system 

Use of all audio equipment or video units installed at the rear display 

Use also includes the management of the connected devices as well as detection of any connected video units The following audio equipment or video units can be connected via the AUX jack for example:

IMPORTANT Media sources connected via "AUX" must always be selected manually Only then can connected video units be detected and their video signals played back.

Power and resource management 

The rear display recognizes overvoltage or undervoltage and reacts with an adapted switch on and off behavior.

Human-Machine Interface (HMI) 

The Human-Machine Interface enables the communication between the rear passenger or the rear passengers and the rear entertainment system by means of the infrared interfaces of the remote control and the rear display

Receive signals 

Direct lines 

The rear display receives the following signals via direct lines:

CAN 

The rear display is a subscriber of the telematics CAN (CAN A) and communicates with the following components:

Infrared 

The rear display receives infrared signals from the remote control (A8/7) via the infrared interface

Generation of picture signals 

The rear display converts received analog picture signals into digital picture signals and displays them.

Generating radio signals 

The rear display generates digital radio signals from the analog audio signals for transfer to the radio frequency headphones (H8/3) (cordless) connected via the radio interface.

Transmitting signals 

Output of audio signals 

Output of audio signals via following options:

IMPORTANT The volume of the audio signals can only be adjusted via the remote control for the headphones connected by cable to the headphones connection. With the radio frequency headphones (cordless), the volume is adjusted using the volume control integrated into the radio frequency headphones.

CAN 

The rear display is a subscriber of the telematics CAN and communicates with the following components:
