MODIFICATION NOTES

19.10.2020 Assign specified suspension data online. Operation step 1.
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
  Assign specified suspension data     
1 Assign specified suspension data online. IMPORTANT To make it easier to assign the current suspension data, the specified suspension data can be assigned online using the vehicle identification number. AR40.20-P-0001A 
MEASURING Measure     
2.1 Start engine and select "Sport" drive program. Model 166.874/875, 292.364/374/375  
2.2 Start engine and select "Comfort" drive program. Model 166 (except 166.874/875)

3 Drive the vehicle onto measuring station and secure using parking brake. IMPORTANT The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.  
4 Move selector lever to "P" position and switch off engine.    
5 Lower window of driver's door. LTI Preparations for checking steering lock.  
6 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m).    
7 Carry out conditions and tests for wheel alignment measurement.   AR40.20-P-0260SX 
8 Unlock turn and slip plates.    
9 Rock vehicle to settle suspension at front and rear. IMPORTANT In order to bring the vehicle into ready-to-drive condition.  
10 Check vehicle level at front and rear axles using electronic inclinometer and adjust if necessary. IMPORTANT Depending on the measurement result the vehicle level must be adjusted at the front and rear axle. AR40.20-P-0301GQ
11 Cover brake pedal and driver's seat.    
12 Install the brake pedal jack with the adapter for brake pedal jack between the brake pedal and the driver's seat. IMPORTANT The vehicle must not be loaded again.

13 Attach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamp holders.   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
14 Attach measuring heads. IMPORTANT For information on how to attach the measuring heads, see the corresponding operating instructions from the manufacturer.  
15 Carry out input measurement.    
16 Adjust camber on rear axle. According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0262GQ 
17 Adjust toe on rear axle. According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0261GQ 
18 Adjust camber and caster on front axle. According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0263GQ 
19 Adjust toe on front axle. According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0264CW 
20 Carry out output measurement. If the specified vehicle values have not been reached.

Repeat operation steps 15 to 19.
 
21 Detach measuring heads.    
22 Detach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamp holders.   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
23 Remove brake pedal jack with adapter for brake pedal jack. SPECIAL TOOL Brake pedal jack Fig 1

24 Lock turn and slip plates.    
25 Drive vehicle off measuring system.    
26 Check headlamp adjustment and correct if necessary.
