Remove/Install Front Engine Mount - AR22.10-P-4330MLJ

Engine 157, 278 in model 166, 292 

MODIFICATION NOTES

14.01.2016 Remove right air duct of the engine bearing cooling, added. Operation step 12  
14.01.2016 Remove right engine mount to the front, added. Operation step 13

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on bolted connections with self tapping screws   AH00.00-P-0007-01SF
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove upper engine cover    
2 Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter housing    
3 Mount engine hoist and raise engine slightly Engine 157, 278 in model 166

IMPORTANT Only raise engine sufficiently that the engine mount (5) is not under tension.

4 Remove lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.30-P-1001GQ
5 Remove left and right catalytic converter   AR49.10-P-5500MLJ
    IMPORTANT Oxygen sensors remain in CATs.  
6 Remove integral carrier heat shield    
7 Remove heat shields (6) from engine mounts (5)    
8 Remove screw/bolts (2) for engine mount (5) on engine support (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, front engine mount to engine support *BA22.10-P-1002-03G 
9 Remove screw/bolts (4) for engine mount (5) on front axle carrier (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, front engine mount to front axle carrier *BA22.10-P-1001-03G 
10 Raise engine further NOTES
Ensure that the engine does not make contact with the firewall.
The cable or lines or components will be damaged otherwise.
 
11 Pull the left engine mount (5) to the rear and out INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The engine mount (5) must sit in the cutout of the engine support (8).
IMPORTANT Always replace engine mount (5) in pairs. Pay attention to environmental protection regulations for disposal of engine mounts (5). Dispose of engine mounts (5) into mixed scrap.
 
12 Remove screw/bolt (9) and right air duct (10) of the engine bearing cooling If installed.  
13 Remove right engine mount (5) to the front INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The engine mount (5) must sit in the cutout of the engine support (8).
IMPORTANT Always replace engine mount (5) in pairs. Pay attention to environmental protection regulations for disposal of engine mounts (5). Dispose of engine mounts (5) into mixed scrap.
 
14 Install in the reverse order
