(Speaker Output Function - GF82.62-P-4212GR)
MODEL 166
up to model year 2016
Function requirements, general
- Circuit 30g
- Transport mode not active
General
A distinction is made between the following procedures:
- Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system)
- Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 810 (Sound system)
- Speaker output in vehicles except CODE 811 (Advanced sound system) and CODE 810 (Sound system)
- Speaker actuation in the event of voice output
Speaker actuation in the emergency call system (with CODE 359 (TELEAID emergency call system) or CODE 348 (Emergency call/assist system)) is described in the following documents:
- Emergency call system, function (model 166.0 up to 30.06.2012 with CODE 359 (TELEAID emergency call system))
- Emergency call system, function (model 166 with CODE 348 (Emergency call/assist system))
Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system)
The audio signals are routed by the audio equipment via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) where they are finally amplified and output over the following speakers via direct lines:
- Left front door speaker, mirror triangle (H4/23)
- Right front door speaker, mirror triangle (H4/24)
- Center instrument panel speaker (H4/27)
- Left rear door tweeter (H4/35)
- Right rear door tweeter (H4/36)
- Left rear surround speaker (H4/62)
- Right rear surround speaker (H4/63)
- Left front door midrange speaker (H4/86)
- Right front door midrange speaker (H4/87)
The sound system amplifier control unit forwards the audio signals for the speakers listed below to the bass speaker amplifier (N40/9).
The woofer amplifier actuates the following speakers via direct lines:
- Left rear door speaker (H4/3)
- Right rear door speaker (H4/4)
- Left front door speaker, mirror triangle
- Right front door speaker, mirror triangle
- Rear bass speaker (H4/38)
- Left front door bass speaker (H4/88)
- Right front door bass speaker (H4/89)
The center instrument panel speaker is used for voice output in vehicles with CODE 348 (Emergency call/assist system) and active vehicle-related service and actuated via direct lines by the emergency call system control unit (N123/4).
With the left and right front door speakers, mirror triangle, the woofer amplifier exclusively actuates the illumination.
During actuation of the speaker system, the volume is adapted to the noise level in the vehicle interior. To do so, the sound system amplifier control unit reads in the sound system microphone (B25/6).
Speaker output in vehicles with CODE 810 (Sound system)
The audio signals are forwarded from the audio equipment via MOST to the sound system amplifier control unit, where they are amplified and output over the following speakers via direct lines:
- Left rear door speaker
- Right rear door speaker
- Left front door speaker (H4/5)
- Right front door speaker (H4/6)
- Center instrument panel speaker
- Left front door tweeter (H4/33)
- Right front door tweeter (H4/34)
- Left rear door tweeter
- Right rear door tweeter
- Rear woofer
- Left rear surround speaker
- Right rear surround speaker
- Left front door midrange speaker
- Right front door midrange speaker
The center instrument panel speaker in vehicles with CODE 359 (TELEAID emergency call system) or CODE 348 (Emergency call/assist system) and active vehicle-related services is used for voice output and actuated by the emergency call system control unit via direct lines.
Speaker output in vehicles except CODE 811 (Advanced sound system) and CODE 810 (Sound system)
The audio signals are output via the following speakers by the audio equipment using direct lines:
- Left rear door speaker
- Right rear door speaker
- Left front door speaker
- Right front door speaker
- Left front door tweeter
- Right front door tweeter
- Left rear door tweeter
- Right rear door tweeter
Speaker actuation in the event of voice output
In the event of voice output during telephony or navigation (with CODE 512 (COMAND APS with DVD changer), with CODE 527 (COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)) or with CODE 509 (Navigation box)), only the front speakers are actuated.
In vehicles except CODE 810 (Sound system) and CODE 811 (Advanced sound system), these are the following speakers:
- Left front door speaker
- Right front door speaker
- Left front door tweeter
- Right front door tweeter
In vehicles with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system), the following speakers are actuated for voice output:
- Left front door speaker, mirror triangle
- Right front door speaker, mirror triangle
- Center instrument panel speaker
- Left front door midrange speaker
- Right front door midrange speaker
- Left front door woofer
- Right front door woofer
In vehicles with CODE 810 (Sound system), the following speakers are actuated for voice output:
- Left front door speaker
- Right front door speaker
- Left front door tweeter
- Right front door tweeter
- Center instrument panel speaker
- Left front door midrange speaker
- Right front door midrange speaker
