Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. |

| 2 | Remove air filter housing on the left or right | Model 463 with engine 279 with code 494 (US version) |

| 3 | Detach charge air hose (1) on the left or the right at charge air cooler (2) | ||
| 4 | Check charge air hose (1) and hose clamps for damage | If damage is present ↓ Replace corresponding assembly part. |

| 5 | Clean and degrease inside of charge air hose (1) as well as its connection fitting on charge air cooler (2) | Assembly cleaner | *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A |
| 6 | Detach charge air line (3) on charge air cooler (2) of left or right | ||
| 7 | Check charge air line (3) and hose clamps for damage | If damage is present ↓ Replace corresponding assembly part. |

| 8 | Clean and degrease charge air line (3) inside as well the connection fitting on charge air cooler (2) | Assembly cleaner | *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A |
| 9 | Disconnect coolant hoses at the supports (9a) of the right charge air cooler (2) | Only for removal of the right charge air cooler (2). | |
| 10 | Check coolant hoses on the fittings (9) and check hose clamps for damage | Only for removal of the right charge air cooler (2). If damage is present ↓ Replace corresponding assembly part. |

| 11 | Detach coolant hoses at the supports (11a) of the left charge air cooler (2) | Only for removal of the left charge air cooler (2). | |

| 15 | Detach air line (6) on charge air cooler (2) | Only for removal of the right charge air cooler (2). | |
| 16 | Unclip electrical connection (7) onto charge air cooler (2) on left or right | ||
| 17 | Remove screws/bolts (8) | Only for removal of the right charge air cooler (2). | |
