	Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.	Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.	AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
	Risk of injury  caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under tension	Use only approved tensioning devices; additionally screen off hazardous area if necessary. 	Remove/install
1	Remove upper engine cover	: Only install upper engine compartment cover after a leak test.
2	Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter

		: Install center and rear sections of lower engine compartment paneling only after a leak test.
		Use a hardwood block 50x50 mm to support rear engine mount.
4	Remove air filter housing		AR09.10-P-1150MRD
5	Remove vacuum pump		AR43.05-P-1320MRD
6	Drain off coolant		AR20.00-P-1142OLC
7	Remove bracket (6)	M6X1	*BA00.10-P-1002-04A
8	Release and disconnect electrical connections for EGR pressure sensor 1 (B5/5) and the EGR pressure sensor 2 (B5/6)
9	Release and disconnect electrical connection of refrigerant compressor (Y27/1)
10	Remove EGR line (4) from charge air distributor......	: Replace clamp if necessary.

11	Remove coolant hose from exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1) below	Hose clamp pliers	Fig 1

15	Remove EGR (5) downstream upwards
16	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
17	Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leaktightness and function
18	Install upper engine compartment cover
19	Install center and rear sections of lower engine compartment paneling		AR61.20-P-1105LWE
