WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray.
Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant.
Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove the expansion tank cap    
2.1 Remove the central, front and right front parts of the bottom engine compartment paneling Model 213 with Engine 274, 642, 654 Model 238 with Engine 274, 642, 654  
      AR61.20-P-1105LWE
2.2 Remove front and central sections of the lower engine compartment paneling Model 213, 238 with Engine 276.8  
      AR61.20-P-1105LWE
  Drain off     
3 Push the drain hose onto the sleeve on the drain valve (3)    
4 Open the drain valve (3), drain the coolant, and collect it in a suitable container NOTES
Only open drain valve (3) far enough for coolant to flow out.
Otherwise damage will occur on drain valve (3) and in engine cooling system radiator (4).
 
5 Close the drain valve (3)    
6 Remove the coolant hose from the connection fitting (1) and drain escaping coolant in a suitable container Model 213 with Engine 274, 654 Model 238 with Engine 274, 654  
      AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
7 Install the coolant hose at the connection fitting (1) Model 213 with Engine 274, 654 Model 238 with Engine 274, 654  
      AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
8 Remove the coolant hose (31) from the oil cooler (32) and collect escaping coolant in a suitable container Model 213, 238 with engine 654 with transmission 725.0  
      AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
9 Install the coolant hose (31) on the oil cooler (32) Model 213, 238 with engine 654 with transmission 725.0  
      AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
  Pour in     
10 Pour in coolant and ventilate engine cooling system Model 213 with Engine 274, 276.8, 642 Model 238 with Engine 274, 276.8, 642 AR20.00-P-1142-04A

11 Check engine cooling system for leak tightness Model 213, 238 with Engine 276.8 AR20.00-P-1011MND

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12 Perform an engine test run and check engine cooling system for proper operation    
INSTALLING Install     
13.1 Install the central, front and right front parts of the bottom engine compartment paneling Model 213 with Engine 274, 642, 654 Model 238 with Engine 274, 642, 654

13.2 Install front and center sections of lower engine compartment paneling Model 213, 238 with Engine 276.8
