The tuner unit is a MOST participant and it communicates over this with the head unit (A26/17).
Direct lines
The following signals are received by the tuner unit over direct lines:
- Power supply through circuit 31 and circuit 30T
- Electronic wake-up for MOST
- SDARS antenna (A2/105) for satellite digital audio radio service (SDARS) signals (with code 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio))
- TV 1 and DAB Band III antenna amplifier (A94/5), for DAB-Band-III signals (DAB 1) (with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB)))
- TV 2 and DAB Band III antenna amplifier (A94/6), for DAB-Band-III signals (DAB 2) (with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB)))
Processing signals
- With CODE 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio), the tuner unit decodes and amplifies the satellite signals (Time For Division Multiplex (TDM)) and the terrestrial signals (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (COFDM)) into Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) signals.
- With CODE 537 (Digital radio (DAB)), the tuner unit decodes the DAB band III signals into PCM signals.

The tuner unit is a MOST participant and it communicates over this with the head unit. The audio signals are sent to the head unit or to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with CODE 810 (Sound system)).
Direct lines
The tuner unit sends the following signals over a direct line:
- Supply voltage to TV 1 and DAB Band III antenna amplifier (with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB)))
- Supply voltage to TV 2 and DAB Band III antenna amplifier (with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB)))
