Spray Nozzle Hose Heater Function - GF82.35-P-3009FG

Model 213 up to model year 2021 with code 875 (Heated windshield washer system)

Function requirements, general

IMPORTANT The CDI control unit (N3/9) (diesel engine) or the ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) (gasoline engine) sends the "engine running" or "drive train operational" signal via the drive train CAN (CAN C1), powertrain control unit (N127), chassis FlexRay (Flex E), electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) and interior CAN (CAN B) to the front SAM control unit (N10/6).

Spray nozzle hose heater, general

The spray nozzle hose heater prevents the washer fluid in the spray nozzles and in the spray nozzle hose from freezing.

Function sequence for spray nozzle hose heater

The front SAM control unit switches on the spray nozzle hose heater at an outside temperature of T < 5°C.

To do so, the front SAM control unit actuates the spray nozzle hose heater (R2/11) directly.

The outside temperature is detected by the outside temperature sensor (B14). The front SAM control unit directly reads in the signals of the outside temperature sensor and calculates the outside temperature.

If the outside temperature rises to T > 8°C, the spray nozzle hose heater is switched off.

IMPORTANT If the windshield washer system pump (M5/1) is actuated, actuation of the spray nozzle hose heater is interrupted. When the windshield washer system pump is no longer actuated, the spray nozzle hose heater is actuated again after t = 5 s.

IMPORTANT The energy management can switch off the spray nozzle hose heater.
