1 Secure vehicle on vehicle lift   AR00.60-P-0100CW
2 Remove left rear axle shaft (37)   AR35.30-P-0620CW 
3 Remove left and right rear diagonal strut MODEL 207.4  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear diagonal strut to spare wheel well *BA61.10-P-1007-01H 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear diagonal strut to longitudinal member *BA61.10-P-1008-01H 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut/bolt, rear diagonal strut to bracket *BA61.10-P-1009-01H 
4 Remove exhaust system from flange connection back MODEL 204 with ENGINE 156, 271, 272, 274, 276
MODEL 207 with ENGINE 271, 272, 273, 276, 278		 AR49.10-P-7100CW

5 Detach drive shaft (7) from joint flange on rear axle differential (50)   AR41.10-P-0050CW
6 Lash down rear axle differential (50) using tensioning strap on rear axle carrier (4)    
7 Remove struts MODEL 204.9 AR35.10-P-0042-01CWG
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA35.10-P-1007-01N

8 Pry rubber plug out of spare wheel well    
9 Remove left and right bolt (3) of rear axle differential suspension at rear TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear axle differential to rear transverse bridge *BA35.10-P-1006-01N 
10 Prop up rear axle differential (50) using telescopic lifter and transmission plate and lash down    
11 Unfasten lashing of rear axle differential (50) with rear axle carrier (4)    
12 Remove bolt (5) of front rear axle differential suspension (8) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install compensating washer (9) again.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Rear axle differential to front adapter *BA35.10-P-1005-01N 
13 Slightly lower rear axle differential (50)    
14 Secure right-hand rear axle shaft to prevent it from falling down    
15 Pry right rear axle shaft out of rear axle differential (50) IMPORTANT Do not position an assembly lever on the protection ring (37a). Support the assembly lever on the rear axle differential (50) using a socket wrench.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace locking ring (37o) on inner spline profile.		  
16 Lower rear axle differential (50) further    
17 Install in the reverse order    
18 Check oil level in rear axle differential (50) and correct, if necessary MODEL 204 (except 204.377)
