Preparing Cross Member Above Rear Axle For Installation - Ar64.20-P-1300-08LWE

except code ME08 (Hybrid drive 75-84 kW VARIANT (INCLUDING PLUGIN)) 

  1. Grind mating surfaces on rear axle crossmember (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
  2. Remove grinding dust.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  3. Grind mating surfaces on rear axle crossmember (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
  4. Remove grinding dust.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  5. Grind mating surfaces on rear axle crossmember top section (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  6. Remove grinding dust.
  7. Grind mating surface on end plate (3) down to bare metal in crosshatched area.
  8. Remove grinding dust.

    IMPORTANT Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.

  9. Grind mating surface on end plate (4) down to bare metal in crosshatched area.
  10. Remove grinding dust.

    IMPORTANT Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
