Install And Weld In Bottom Rear Center Section - Ar64.20-P-1000-08LWE

Model 213.0/1 

  1. Install rear center section (1) and fit.

    IMPORTANT Helper required.

  2. Install trunk lid seal.
  3. Install striker eye.
  4. Check and adjust gap dimensions.
  5. Fix rear center section (1) in place.
  6. Remove trunk lid seal.
  7. Remove locking eye.

    IMPORTANT The following steps 8 and 9 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side of the vehicle.

  8. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in rear center section (1) through holes present i body (area A and B).
  9. Countersink rivet holes from outside (area B).
  10. Remove rear center section (1).
  11. Deburr rivet holes on rear center section (1) and body on both sides.
  12. Remove drilling chips.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

    IMPORTANT The work step 13 is shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same fashion on the right side of the vehicle.

  13. Apply 2-component adhesive to inside of body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT The 2-component adhesive is partly wiped off in this area when the rear end center section is installed, making it necessary to apply additional adhesive for compensation. Apply 2-component adhesive to new part.

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for curing and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  14. Install rear center section (1) and fix in place.

    IMPORTANT Helper required.

    IMPORTANT The following steps 15, 16 and 17 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side of the vehicle.

  15. Rivet rear center section (1) with Ø 6.4x12 rivet (areas D).
  16. Rivet rear center section (1) from outside with Ø 6.4x15.5 countersunk head rivet (area E).
  17. Rear center section (1) rp POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas F).

  18. Bend back connecting flange on left and right rear fender (areas G and H).
  19. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes on left and right rear fender and drill through present holes (areas G).
  20. Deburr rivet holes left and right rear fender on both sides.
  21. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint (areas G).
  22. Rear center section (1) rp POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas J).

    IMPORTANT The work step 23 is shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same fashion on the right side of the vehicle.

  23. Rivet rear fender (2) with Ø 6.4x12 rivet (area K).
