Cut Off Rear End Center Assembly - Ar64.20-P-1000-02LWT

  1. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and cut out (areas A).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

  2. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and cut out from inside (areas B).
  3. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (areas C).

    IMPORTANT The following operations steps 4 to 6 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side.

  4. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and cut out (areas E and G).
  5. Cut solder points on rear center section (1) (areas F).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spots welds on rear center section (1) from inside (area E).

    IMPORTANT The following operation steps 7 and 8 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

  6. Bend connecting flange open approx. 45° on rear fender (arrows H).
  7. Bend connecting flange open approx. 45° on rear center section (1) (arrow I).

  8. Heat rear center section (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Crosshatched areas are bonded with structural foam parts.

  9. Remove rear center section (1).

    IMPORTANT Helper required.

  10. Remove structural foam parts from body.

  11. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  12. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  13. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
