	Risk of fire and explosion  caused by ignition of window washing fluid or antifreeze and their vapors. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing window washing fluid or antifreeze or inhaling their vapors. Risk of injury  or physical irritations caused by contact of window washing fluid or antifreeze with eyes, mucous membranes or skin.	Wear protective clothing and tight-fitting safety glasses. No open flames, fire or ignition sources. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and skin. When working with window washing fluids or antifreeze, do not eat, drink, or smoke. Do not inhale vapors and ensure sufficient ventilation in the working area. Store window washing fluid and antifreeze leakfree in safely closed original containers and out of the reach of children. 	Remove/install
1	Remove tailgate trim TOP (2).	Model 205.2, 213.2	AR72.20-P-6631LWS
		Model 253.1/9	AR72.20-P-6631LWG

2	Mechanically lock rotary tumbler at tailgate lock using a suitable screwdriver.	Otherwise, the liftgate (1) can no longer be opened when the electrical lines are disconnected.
		: Before adjusting the liftgate (1), unlock the rotary tumbler on the liftgate lock.
3	Unclip cover (4) and remove.
4	Remove brackets (5) at hinges.
5	Pull left and right protective sleeve (6) out of tailgate (1).	Carefully pull out protective grommets (6). Otherwise, the electrical lines inside will be damaged.
6	Unscrew nut (7) and remove ground line. Notes on the use of paint scraping nuts on ground connections		AH00.19-P-1000-20A
		Model 253.1, 253.9 (except 253.99) Remove three ground lines from the liftgate (1).

7	Pull off elbow fitting (8) from spray nozzle and unclip washer fluid line (9) at tailgate (1).
8	If necessary, mark electrical connectors of left electrical wiring harness (10) and right electrical wiring harness (11).	The number of electrical connectors may vary depending on the equipment.
9	Unlock and disconnect electrical connectors of left electrical wiring harness (10) and right electrical wiring harness (11).
10	Expose left electrical wiring harness (10) and right electrical wiring harness (11) at tailgate (1).	: Pay attention to correct routing.
11	Guide left electrical wiring harness (10) and right electrical wiring harness (11) out of tailgate (1).	Carefully guide out left electrical wiring harness (10) and right electrical wiring harness (11). Otherwise, the left electrical wiring harness (10) and the right electrical wiring harness (11) will be damaged.
12	Open retainer (12) using a suitable screwdriver and remove ball head (13) from hinge.	Model 205.2, 213.2, 253.1/9, 293 with Code 890 (EASY-PACK-tailgate)

		: Install center brake lamp only after adjusting liftgate (1).
15	Remove pneumatic springs from tailgate (1).		AR72.20-P-2832LW
16	Remove support from tailgate (1).	Support	Fig 1
17	Unscrew screws (14) and remove tailgate (1).	Helper required.
		Bolt, liftgate hinge to liftgate	*BA72.20-P-1002-02N
18	Install in the reverse order.

20	Perform function check of the electrical consumers of the liftgate (1).
