General information on ENERGIZING COMFORT
The ENERGIZING COMFORT system creates sensible combinations of various individual functions with programs which are assigned to certain guiding themes.
The characteristics of the individual functions generally serve to increase the individual well-being of the driver or all vehicle occupants.
Mental and physical fitness can also be increased by addressing all of the senses in a coordinated manner. In monotonous driving situations, the driver can be supported by an activating or refreshing program, or by a relaxing or warming program in emotionally stressful situations. In the event of tension, a program with guided relaxation exercises can help.
The system is operated using the multifunction steering wheel button group, the head unit, the Audio/COMAND controller (with code 448 (Touchpad)) or the touchpad (with code 446 (Touchpad only)).
The ENERGIZING comfort control is integrated in the head unit. The head unit communicates with the following control units:

The program overview lists all the functions from which the ENERGIZING COMFORT system requests a function characteristic.
Refreshment program
The refreshment program helps to counteract fatigue by means of climate control. The driver and other vehicle occupants are stimulated predominantly by a change of climate control.
The control function of the refreshment program is air pulsation, which is implemented through cooling blasts of air from the air conditioning system. The air is also cleaned through ionization, and a pleasant fragrance is released. The vehicle interior is illuminated with cooling, activating colors, and the seat is ventilated.
The refreshment program is intended primarily for long-distance journeys with activated climate control. However, it can also be called up e.g. at the start of a journey, while stationary and during heating in the winter.
Activation program
The activation program can be used to counteract the fatiguing effect of a monotonous driving situation. Activating stimulation of the driver and further vehicle occupants is carried out primarily through activating music with a fast rhythm.
The lead function of the activation program is the activating music. The audio equipment plays pieces of music with a fast rhythm that have been compiled in a playlist. The air is also cleaned through ionization, and a pleasant fragrance is released. The vehicle interior is illuminated with cooling, activating colors, the seat is ventilated, and an active seat program is executed.
The activation program is primarily intended for long-distance journeys with a monotonous driving situation. However, it can also be called up e.g. B. at the start of a journey, while stationary and during stop-and-go driving.
The activation program is started when the ATTENTION ASSIST reaches warning level yellow. When warning level red is reached, the ATTENTION ASSIST activates the PowerNap program.
Active relaxation program
The active relaxation program helps the driver and other vehicle occupants to counteract any muscle tension, pins and needles, stress or the like primarily with targeted relaxation or activation exercises. These exercises are presented in short videos.
The control function of the active relaxation program consists of different exercises with instructions that are played back via the video player. The air is also cleaned through ionization, and a pleasant fragrance is released. The vehicle interior is illuminated in a color that can be perceived as both stimulating and relaxing.
The active relaxation program is intended primarily for breaks on a physically or mentally demanding long-distance journey. However, it can also be called up, e.g. before or after a journey and during stop-and-go driving. Video presentations during the journey are not supported.
Healthy warmth program
The healthy warmth program allows the driver and other vehicle occupants to relax and increase their level of well-being. This is carried out through discrete, healthy warming and a warm ambiance.
The control function of the healthy warmth program consists of the coupled wall and seat heating. The air is also cleaned through ionization, and a pleasant fragrance is released. The vehicle interior is illuminated with a warm color. The steering wheel is heated discretely.
The healthy warmth program is intended primarily for use when the heater is activated (normally when the outside temperature is lower than the specified vehicle interior temperature). However, it is not a pure winter program. When climate control is activated, this program can also be used complementary to relax the muscles by performing guided exercises.
Enjoyment program
The enjoyment program can be used to physically and mentally relax the driver and further vehicle occupants. This relaxation is carried out primarily by a massage on the massage seat.
The lead function of the enjoyment program is a massage program. The air is also cleaned through ionization, and a pleasant fragrance is released. The audio equipment plays relaxing pieces of music that have been compiled in a playlist. The vehicle interior is illuminated with a warm color.
The enjoyment program is intended for short-and long-distance journeys, can be used anytime while driving, when the vehicle is stationary and at any time of year.
Well-being program
The well-being program can be used to physically and mentally relax the driver and further vehicle occupants. This relaxation is carried out primarily via a back massage that is combined with local heat.
The lead function of the well-being program is the hot stone massage program that is implemented in the massage seat. The air is also cleaned through ionization, and a pleasant fragrance is released. The audio equipment plays relaxing pieces of music that have been compiled in a playlist. The vehicle interior is illuminated with a warm color.
The well-being program is intended for short-and long-distance journeys, can be used anytime while driving, when the vehicle is stationary and preferably in cooler temperatures.
PowerNap program (with hybrid)
The PowerNap program supports a brief nap on the part of the driver and further vehicle occupants, as a result of which tiredness can be reduced, and the driver's condition can be increased. This encouragement is provided by appropriate measures to secure the vehicle and the people inside it, measures to help you fall asleep and measures during the sleeping phase, as well as measures to wake you up on time and in a pleasant way.
The music assigned to the specific phases is regarded as the lead function of the PowerNap program. Relaxing music and moderately activating music is played during the sleep onset phase and waking phase respectively by the audio player. No music is played during the sleep phase.
To secure the vehicle occupants and the vehicle, the electric parking brake is engaged, the doors are locked, and the windows, the panoramic sliding sunroof, and the roller sunblinds are closed.
During sleep onset, relaxing music is played, the seat is heated, and a discrete massage is performed. The vehicle interior temperature is adjusted for sleep without a blanket using the stationary heater and ventilation. The noise made by the fan is minimized and the air is cleaned by means of ionization. In addition, the vehicle interior is illuminated with warm light and the button illumination is dimmed. The instrument cluster remains activated.
During the sleeping phase, the functions are switched off or turned down as far as possible. Climate control is continued with support from the stationary heater and ventilation.
Mildly stimulating music is played during the wake-up phase. The air in the vehicle interior is cleaned and fragranced. The seats are ventilated. The vehicle interior is illuminated in an activating color. An alarm clock can additionally be activated.
The PowerNap program is primarily designed for a short nap on the part of the driver. However, it can also be used during the journey by the front passenger or rear passengers. Other program requirements apply in this case and the program run is adapted.

Starting an ENERGIZING COMFORT program means that all individual functions involved are started (if selected in the configuration). The initial state of the individual functions involved is stored and generally restored after the end of the ENERGIZING COMFORT program is reached. The exception is if the settings of an individual function are changed by the individual function's individual control during the ENERGIZING COMFORT program. In this case, this function continues to run according to the most recent settings even after the end of the ENERGIZING COMFORT program (individual operation is the "master").
