| 1 | Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key at a location beyond transmitter range (at least 2 m) | ||
| 2 | Push down brake pedal several times | ||
| 3 | Remove fan unit (1) | AR20.40-P-5050NKE | |
| 4 | Cut cable tie (2) | ||
| 5 | Disconnect electrical connector (3) | ||
| 6 | Release vacuum line (4) | ||
| 7 | Unclip coolant hose (5) (arrows) and push away in downward direction | ||
| 8 | Unscrew nuts (6) | *BA43.05-P-1001-01F | |
| 9 | Remove vacuum pump (M56) upwards | ||
| 10 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| Initial startup | |||
| 11 | Connect diagnostic system and read out fault memory | Only after replacement of the vacuum pump (M56). | |

| 12 | Reset parameter data of vacuum pump (M56) in powertrain control unit (N127) | Only after replacement of the vacuum pump (M56). | |
