	Remove/install
	Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

1	Remove right side paneling in rear		AR68.30-P-4780RK
2	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key (A8/1) or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button (S2/3) from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)	KEYLESS-GO start/stop button (S2/3) only with code (889) KEYLESS-GO.
3	Remove frame (9) at stowage compartment	Removal:  Carefully unclip the frame (9) upward.
4	Unscrew bolts (1) and remove bracket (2)
5	Unscrew bolt (3) and detach ground line (4) from ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13)	Screw/bolt, battery cable to battery terminal on additional battery	*BA54.10-P-1004-01F
6	Using diode test lamp, check on-board electrical system for voltage between positive line (5) of ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) and detached ground line (4)	If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system. In this case, disconnect the ground line of the on-board electrical system battery (G1). ↓ Disconnect/connect battery ground line If a fault was detected during removal, the electrical system must be repaired before connection. 7	Unscrew bolt (6) and detach positive line (5) from ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13)	Screw/bolt, battery cable to battery terminal on additional battery	*BA54.10-P-1004-01F
8	Release retaining tabs (7) and fold up cover (8) (arrow)
9	Disconnect vent hose from ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13)	Make sure that the vent hose is routed without kinks.
10	Remove ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13)
11	Install in the reverse order
