	Remove/install
1	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)
2	Detach ground line from battery		AR54.10-P-0003LF
3	Remove radiator		AR20.20-P-3865LF
4	Mount engine hoisting gear and raise engine	Model 217, 222 with engine 157, 278 with code M005 (4MATIC) Only raise engine sufficiently that the engine mounts are not under tension.	AR33.10-P-0105LF
5	Detach and mount rack-and-pinion steering from front axle carrier	Model 217, 222 with engine 157, 278 with code M005 (4MATIC)	AR46.20-P-0600LF
	000 588 10 62 00 Support plate		WS26.00-P-3309B
	000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount	Only lower enough so that the ball heads and steering coupling are not subject to tension.	WS01.00-P-0092B
6	Detach automatic transmission oil cooling lines at alternator (G2) and oil pan	Model 217, 222 with engine 278 with transmission 725.0	AR27.55-P-0600LFB

7	Remove poly-V belt		AR13.20-P-0001LFB
8	Remove cap (2), unscrew nut and remove electrical line (4) from alternator (G2)	Nut, circuit B+ to alternator	*BA15.40-P-1002-01F
9	Release and disconnect electrical connection (3)
10	Remove screw/bolts (1) for alternator (G2)	Bolt, alternator to timing case	*BA15.40-P-1001-01F
11	Take alternator (G2) upwards and out
12	Install in the reverse order
