Deburr repair panels.

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by slipping when inserting blade in the multicutter and by glass splinters when cutting out bonded windows Always interrupt air supply or power supply before inserting or removing blade.

8 Saw an approx. 5 to 10 mm wide strip off of the front edge of the front glass cover (2) NOTES
Saw carefully.
Otherwise the upper seal on the windshield (3) can be damaged and the windshield (3) must be replaced.
NOTES
Observe cutting depth when sawing.
Otherwise the paneling on the front roof frame can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Use oscillating saw with round sawing blade.
 
9.1 Detach headliner from roof and lay down in vehicle interior Model 205.0/1

IMPORTANT Markings are required for installation, because bolts (13) should not be mixed up with bolts (14, 16).
 
15 Unscrew bolts (13, 14) from left and right rear mounting console (15) and remove rear mounting consoles (15) Model 222

16 Unscrew bolts (16) on left and right front mounting console (17) and remove front mounting console (17) Model 222

    IMPORTANT Protect adjacent paint surfaces against damage while cutting using SPECIAL TOOL shield plates.
IMPORTANT Helper required.

23 Remove front panoramic sliding roof frame (1) from vehicle with aid helper    
INSTALLING Install     
24 Position rear mounting consoles (15) at installation locations and tighten bolts (14) Model 222

NOTES
Ensure that bolt (14, 16) and bolts (13) are not mixed up.
Otherwise crash safety at this body point is no longer ensured.
 
25 Prepare new panoramic front sliding roof frame (1) for installation   AR77.21-P-0800-02LF
NOTES
Before starting work, all components, materials and tools must be prepared for installing the front panoramic sliding roof frame (1).
Otherwise it may not be possible to maintain permissible processing and joining times.
NOTES
Always observe instructions described in the document reference for preparing front panoramic roof sliding frame (1).
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.

27 Apply adhesive material for panoramic front sliding roof frame (1)   AR77.21-P-0800-03LF
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 72 00 Sealing and corrosion protection gun   WS97.00-P-0001B
    NOTES
Apply adhesive within 25 min. and position front panoramic sliding roof frame (1) within next 15 minutes on body flange on vehicle side and fix in place.
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
NOTES
Always observe instructions described in document reference for applying adhesive material.

28 Install front panoramic sliding roof frame (1) on body with aid of helper and align NOTES
Do not drive vehicle for 10 h after gluing in front panoramic sliding roof frame (1). Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
IMPORTANT Observe gap dimensions (A, B) determined before removal and center front panoramic sliding roof frame (1) between side roof panelings.

30 Insert left and right stepped wedge (19) between body flange and front sliding roof frame (1) IMPORTANT The optimum position of the stepped wedges (19) is reached, when they can be positioned on the center step under slight pressure.
Stepped wedges (19) with various increments are available .
 
31 Tighten bolts (23) Model 205.0/1/2, 253

Ensure that marked bolts (13) are used when removing, because bolts (13) must not be mixed up with other bolts (14, 16).
Otherwise crash safety at this body point is no longer ensured.
