DANGER The high voltage used for electric welding presents a lethal hazard. Risk of explosion  from welding in areas close to highly inflammable materials. Risk of injury  from weld splatter and UV-light when welding. Risk of poisoning  from inhaling welding gases Use insulating mats. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and a protective mask. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Use air extraction system. AS00.00-Z-0007-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove all detachable parts in area of repair point.    
2 Cover all detachable parts remaining in vehicle with welding protection blankets. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Welding protection blanket  
3 Partially remove longitudinal member outer shell (1) at entrance. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Spot weld milling machine
Body power jigsaw
Rotary wire brush
Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

    Zinc dust paint suitable for spot welding *BR00.45-Z-1001-07A 
4 Partially prepare longitudinal member outer shell (1) at entrance. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Body power jigsaw
Rotary wire brush
Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
Hole punching pliers

    Zinc dust paint suitable for spot welding *BR00.45-Z-1001-07A 
INSTALLING Install     
5 Partially install and weld in longitudinal member outer shell (1) at entrance.   AR63.30-S-1110-03E

Rotary wire brush
Squeeze gun

6 Clean weld joints and sheet metal flanges with rotary wire brush. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Rotary wire brush  
7 Remove welding protection blankets. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Welding protection blanket  
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by paint vapors igniting. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling paint vapors. No smoking! No open fire! Use respiratory protection, protective clothing, gloves, safety glasses and protective skin cream. Ensure that the area is well ventilated. AS98.00-Z-0002-01A
8 Prime repair area with a primer filler.    
Notice Notes on paintwork repairs NOTES Repair area must be free of dust and grease. Otherwise adhesion problems may occur
IMPORTANT Use only primer fillers approved by manufacturer.

9 Seal seam after repair. IMPORTANT Supplement standard seals with sealant. AR97.10-S-4000E
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by paint vapors igniting. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling paint vapors. No smoking! No open fire! Use respiratory protection, protective clothing, gloves, safety glasses and protective skin cream. Ensure that the area is well ventilated. AS98.00-Z-0002-01A
10 Paint repair area and adjacent surfaces.    
Notice Notes on paintwork repairs NOTES Repair area must be free of dust and grease. Otherwise adhesion problems may occur

12 Install dowels for the mounting rail of the longitudinal member panel. Model 447, 448.8 with code CN1 (Exterior rocker panel)
IMPORTANT Only perform operation steps for installing the dowel.
