Perform Wheel Alignment Check - AR40.20-P-0200GQ

MODEL 166, 292 

MEASURING Measure     
1 Drive the vehicle onto the measuring station and secure using the parking brake The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.  
2 Move selector lever to position "P"    
3 Open driver door window IMPORTANT Preparations for checking steering lock.  
4 Select suspension tuning S or S+ using appropriate button Model 166, 292 with code 489 (AIRMATIC)  
5 Raise the vehicle level and lower it again using the corresponding button Model 166, 292 with code 489 (AIRMATIC)  
6 Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key at a location beyond transmitter range (at least 2 m)    
7 Carry out conditions and tests for chassis alignment   AR40.20-P-0260SX 
8 Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms    
9 Rock vehicle to settle suspension at front and rear IMPORTANT In order to bring the vehicle into ready-to-drive condition.  
10 Check vehicle level at front and rear axle using electronic inclinometer and adjust if necessary IMPORTANT Depending on the measurement result the vehicle level must be adjusted at the front and rear axle. AR40.20-P-0301GQ 
11 Cover brake pedal and driver's seat    
12 Using the adapter, install the brake pedal retaining tool between the pedal and the driver seat IMPORTANT The vehicle must not be loaded again.

13 Attach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
14 Fit on measuring heads IMPORTANT For information on how to attach the measuring heads, see the corresponding operating instructions from the manufacturer.  
15 Perform initial measurement IMPORTANT For carrying out the initial measurement, see corresponding dimensional check system operating instructions.  
16 Adjust camber at rear axle According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0262GQ 
17 Adjust rear-axle toe According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0261GQ 
18 Adjust camber and caster at the front axle According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0263GQ 
19 Adjust front axle toe According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0264CW 
20 Check toe-out angle According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0325CW 
21 Perform final measurement    
22 Repeat operation steps 15 to 21 If the specified vehicle values are not reached.  
23 Detach measuring heads    
24 Detach Mercedes-Benz quick-clamping devices   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
25 Remove brake pedal jack tool with its adapter SPECIAL TOOL Brake pedal jack Fig 2

26 Lock turntables and sliding platforms    
27 Drive vehicle off measuring system    
28 Check headlamp adjustment and correct if necessary
