	Remove
1	Remove air spring	Model 253.388/389/988/989 with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)	AR32.22-P-1500LWX
2	Remove rear axle brake caliper, hook up to one side and detach lower sliding bolt from brake caliper support	Do not remove brake hoses.	AR42.10-P-0080LW
3	Detach shock absorber (1) from spring link (2)		AR32.25-P-0110LW
4	Unscrew nut and pull screw (3) out of spring link (2)	The screwdriver bit is to be used when a screw (3) with a multi-socket tooth profile is fitted.

5	Unscrew nut and pull screw (5) out of spring link (2)	The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt (5) with multi-point socket profile is installed.

6	Remove spring link (2) from wheel carrier (6)
7	Detach bracket (10) from spring link (2)	When replacing the spring control arm (2).
	Check
8	Check that elastomer bearing (8) in rear axle carrier (7) is in good condition and undamaged	If there are problems ↓ Replace elastomer bearing (8).

9	Check that elastomer bearing (9) in rear axle carrier (6) is in good condition and undamaged	If there are problems ↓ Replace elastomer bearing (9).

	Install
10	Mount bracket (10) onto spring link (2)	When replacing the spring control arm (2).
11	Position spring link (2) on rear axle carrier (7) and wheel carrier (6)
12	Position screw (5) in spring link (2) and tighten nut	The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt (5) with multi-point socket profile is installed.

13	Position screw (3) in spring link (2) and screw on nut up to contact surface	Fully tighten bolt (3) after wheel alignment measurement. The screwdriver bit is to be used when a screw (3) with a multi-socket tooth profile is fitted. Replace adjusting plate (4). Make sure that the adjusting plate (4) is seated correctly and in the correct installation position.

14	Mount shock absorber (1) onto spring link (2)		AR32.25-P-0110LW
15	Insert lower sliding bolt into brake caliper support and mount rear axle brake caliper		AR42.10-P-0080LW
16	Install air spring	Model 253.388/389/988/989 with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)	AR32.22-P-1500LWX
17	Perform wheel alignment check		AR40.20-P-0200LW
18	Fully tighten screw (3)	The screwdriver bit is to be used when a screw (3) with a multi-socket tooth profile is fitted.
