REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove center and rear section of lower engine compartment paneling Model 213

NOTES
The articulation angle measurement must be performed on a measurement lift/pit. Otherwise the measurement results will be false.

2 Prepare articulation angle meter   AR41.10-P-0086-02LW 
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 04 19 00 Articulation angle inclinometer   WS26.00-P-0140B
3 Check inclinometer and adjust if necessary IMPORTANT See operating instructions for the inclinometer.  
4 Measure angle at transmission   AR41.10-P-0085-01LW 
5 Measure angle on front and rear half of propeller shaft   AR41.10-P-0085-02LW 
6 Measure angle on housing of rear axle differential   AR41.10-P-0085-03LW 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 205, 213, 253
with code 990 (AMG vehicles) Bolt, heat sink to end cover

7 Read out all articulation angles (∠ 1, ∠ 2, ∠ 3) from memory of articulation angle meter and note down   AR41.10-P-0086-01LW 
REFER TO FORMS Data Sheet for Measuring Inclination Angle, Form   OF41.10-P-3000-01A 
    Front inclination angle of transmission relative to front propeller shaft (∠ 1) *BE41.10-P-1001-01G 
    Inclination angle of front propeller shaft relative to rear propeller shaft (∠2) *BE41.10-P-1002-01G 
    Rear inclination angle of rear propeller shaft relative to rear axle differential (∠3)
If inclination angles (∠ 1, ∠ 2, ∠ 3) are out of tolerance.

Correct the articulation angles of the propeller shaft.
