Correct front inclination angle (∠1)

IMPORTANT For inclination angle correction at the rear engine cross member (34) or at the rear engine mount, mount shop-made shims.

A 1 mm thick shim changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17°.

The bolt length should be increased by 5 mm when using shims with a thickness of >2 mm.

If a shim with thickness of >5 mm is required, the front and rear engine mounts must be checked for signs of settling or wear and replaced if necessary.

  1. Support transmission using major assembly mount and support plate.
  2. Remove rear engine cross member (34).

NOTES Never use impact wrenches/drivers or compressed air tools for screwing in or unscrewing the bolts!

Otherwise the threads can get damaged.

  3. Depending on the correction insert the shop-made shims between the rear engine cross member (34) and frame floor or between the rear engine mount and the rear engine cross member (34).

IMPORTANT The dimensions for the shims must be taken from the corresponding part; see the pictures below.

  4. Install rear engine crossmember (34).
