	Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.	Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. 	Remove/install
1	Remove upper engine cover
2	Remove air filter housing		AR09.10-P-1150MTA
3	Remove battery carrier		AR54.00-P-0002NKB
4	Remove charge air hose downstream of charge air cooler (7)		AR09.41-P-8619MTA
5	Unfasten clamp from boot at ATL
6	Unfasten vacuum line at vacuum pump
7	Empty low-temperature circuit		AR20.00-P-1144MTA
8	Disconnect connector from pressure sensor upstream of throttle valve (B28/6)
9	Remove SOGE and SOGE control valve	Engine 133 in model 117, 156, 176 with code U21 (AMG Performance exhaust system)
9	Remove SOGE and SOGE control valve		AR09.41-P-0123MTA
10	Disconnect low-temperature circuit return line (2) at charge air cooler (7) and expose
11	Detach purge line at charge air cooler carrier (8)
12	Unfasten low-temperature circuit feed line (6) at charge air cooler carrier (8)
13	Unfasten bracket from electrical wiring harness for starter at charge air cooler carrier (8)
14	Unfasten low-temperature circuit feed line (6)	To do this tilt charge air cooler (7) to the front.
15	Open charge air cooler carrier (8)	To do this press lock (5) with screwdriver downwards.
16	Remove charge air cooler (7)	Check elastomer bearing for damage and replace if necessary.
17	Drain off coolant	When removing the charge air cooler carrier (8).

18	Remove screw/bolts (9)	When removing the charge air cooler carrier (8).
19	Pull charge air cooler carrier (8) carefully in direction of travel to the left	When removing the charge air cooler carrier (8).
20	Detach coolant hoses from charge air cooler carrier (8)	When removing the charge air cooler carrier (8).
21	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
22	Perform engine test run and check cooling system for leaktightness
