	Check
	Risk of injury  . Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components.	AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1	Turn key in ignition lock to position "0"
2	Raise vehicle with vehicle lift
			AR00.60-P-1000G
3	Check universal joints (arrow) of steering shaft for axial play at steering gear and steering column	Position the screwdriver at the forks of the universal joints and press alternately with the screwdriver and your hand. No axial play must be present. In the event of complaints: ↓ subject to separate repair order.
4	Check universal joints (arrow) of steering shaft for radial play at steering gear and steering column	Have a second person turn the steering wheel at short intervals alternately to the left and right. Simultaneously hold the universal joint in your hand and check for radial play. No radial play must be present. In the event of complaints: ↓ subject to separate repair order.
5	Check ball heads (1) and pitman arms (2)		AP46.40-P-4650-02G
6	Check steering play (a)		AP46.00-P-4650-01G
	Clean
7	Clean left and right rubber boots (3) and surrounding area.
8	Check that left and right rubber boots (3) are undamaged and that they are seated firmly on contact surface.	If a rubber boot (3) is leaky or damaged, the ball joint concerned must be replaced immediately. Penetrating dirt can cause irreparable damage to the ball joint after a short time. In the event of complaints: ↓ subject to separate repair order.
