Raise vehicle at front axle and move front wheels to straight-ahead position.

Vehicles with manual steering.

Start engine running and move front wheels to straight-ahead position.

Vehicles with power steering system. Do not raise the vehicle!

Turn the steering wheel at short intervals alternately to the left and right in the range (a) shown.

Vehicles with manual steering. Each movement of the steering wheel must be transmitted to the front wheels without play. No knocking should be heard in the steering gear.

Turn the steering wheel alternately to the left and right.

Vehicles with power steering system. When the steering wheel is turned in the range (a) shown, the front wheels must move. No knocking should be heard in the steering gear.

Lower vehicle.

Vehicle with manual steering.
