Emergency lamp control, function - GF82.10-P-3013CA

MODEL 207.3/4 up to model year 2014

Function requirements for emergency light actuation, general

IMPORTANT The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) sends the circuit 15 status over the interior CAN (CAN B) to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

Emergency light actuation, general

The emergency light actuation ensures operation of the minimum exterior lighting in the event of failure of individual system components for the vehicle's exterior lights.

Function sequence for emergency light actuation

The aim of the emergency lights actuation is to prevent a complete failure of the vehicle outside lights due to a processor failure or due to the failure of the interior CAN. For this reason, both the front SAM control unit and the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) have separate hardware which guarantees the emergency light function.

Should the interior CAN, the front SAM control unit or the rear SAM control unit fail, the front standing light and low beam actuation will be activated within t < 3 s by the individual hardware in the front SAM control unit and the standing light actuation and the brake light actuation will be activated depending on the status of circuit 54 by the individual hardware in the rear SAM control unit.
