	Remove/install
1	Clean area around cap on expansion reservoir for brake fluid	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
2	Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid	This prevents the expansion reservoir overflowing when the brake piston is pushed back.
3	Remove front wheels

4	Detach spring (1) from brake caliper (3)
5	Remove screw/bolt (3s)	With 2-piston floating caliper brake

6	Remove cover (3d) and spring (1) from brake caliper (3) With 2-piston floating caliper brake
7	Detach electrical connection from brake wear sensor at front right (S10/2x1)

9	Remove brake caliper (3) and secure free of tension to vehicle with lines still connected	Do not subject the brake hose (4) and electrical line to tension and do not kink them. The brake hose (4) and the electrical line may otherwise be damaged.
10	Remove brake linings (5)	When replacing the brake linings (5), remove the protective foil of the outer brake lining (5). Do not apply brake paste or lubricants to the brake linings (5) and brake caliper supports (2). Unidirectional brake linings (5) are installed at the front axle. Mount all brake linings (5) so that the arrow on the lining carrier points in the direction of rotation of the complete wheel when traveling forward. Only complete sets of brake linings (5) approved by Mercedes-Benz may be installed.

11	Check brake linings (5) for wear and that they are in good condition

		In case of damage or excessive wear: ↓ Replace brake linings (5). Replace the brake linings (5) as a complete set only.
12	Check brake disk (7) for wear and that it is in good condition

		In case of damage or excessive wear: ↓ Replace the brake disk (7).

13	Check brake caliper (3) and dust boot (8) of brake piston for leaktightness and damage	If there are problems: ↓ Replace brake caliper (3).

16	Clean contact surfaces of brake linings (5) on brake caliper (3) and on brake caliper support (2)	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects to clean. The dust boot (8), brake caliper (3) or brake caliper support (2) can otherwise be damaged.

17	Pull right front brake wear sensor (S10/2) out of pad backing plate of brake lining (5) When replacing the brake linings (5) or when replacing the front right brake wear sensor (S10/2).
18	Install in the reverse order
19	Depress brake pedal several times until brake linings (5) rest against brake disks (7)	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.

20	Check/correct brake fluid level in expansion reservoir
