	Remove/install
1	Remove cover above brake fluid expansion reservoir
2	Clean area around cap on expansion reservoir for brake fluid	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
3	Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid	This prevents the expansion reservoir overflowing when the brake piston is pushed back.
4	Remove front wheels		AR40.10-P-1101A
5	Disconnect right front brake wear sensor from electrical connector
6	Press back brake piston using resetting device	Position the pusher tool at the elevations (arrows) of the brake linings (2).
		Resetting device If brake pistons are sluggish: ↓ Replace brake caliper (1).	Figure

7	Remove screw/bolts (5)	Replace screw/bolts (5).

8	Remove brake caliper (1) from wheel carrier and secure free of tension to vehicle with lines still connected	Do not subject the brake hose (6) and electrical line to tension and do not kink them. The brake hose (6) and the electrical line can otherwise be damaged.
9	Press brake linings (2) off screw bolts (4) against force of retaining springs (3) and remove from brake caliper (1)	Do not loosen or remove the screw bolts (4). Do not apply brake paste or lubricants to the brake linings (2) and brake calipers (1). Only complete sets of brake linings (2) approved by Mercedes-Benz may be installed.
	Check
10	Check retaining springs (3) for damage and that they are in good condition	If there are problems: ↓ Replace retaining springs (3).
11	Check brake linings (2) for wear and that they are in good condition

		In case of damage or excessive wear: ↓ Replace brake linings (2). Replace the brake linings (2) as a complete set only.
12	Check brake caliper (1) and dust boots of brake piston for leaktightness and damage	If there are problems: ↓ Replace brake caliper (1).

	Clean
13	Clean contact surfaces of brake linings (2) on brake caliper (1) and on brake pistons	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. The brake caliper (1) or the dust boots of the brake pistons can otherwise be damaged.
		Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
14	Pull right front brake wear sensor out of pad backing plate of brake lining (2)	When replacing the brake linings (2) or replacing the right front brake wear sensor.
15	Install in the reverse order
16	Operate brake pedal several times until brake linings (2) rest against brake disks	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.

17	Check/correct brake fluid level in expansion reservoir

18	Carry out brake test on the test stand
